Arville, located in Loir-et-Cher in France, between Le Mans and Chartres, was a village built by the Templars in 1129. The Templars settled in this area, on a wooded estate of 2,500 acres, donated by a local lord.

The site had a chapel, barn, fortified gate, bakery, and dovecote.

Arville became a base for military recruiting and training. Also an important house of prayer. In 1312, ownership transferred to the Hospitallers.
